For the academic year 2008/9, the number of European Union member state applicants to Romanian Medical Schools have more than doubled. There has been an overall increase in applicants to Romanian medical universities from all countries, however the most notable increase is in applications coming from E.U member state applicants. Reasons for this could be related to
- simpler residency procedures for E.U member citizens
- reduction in fees at Romanian Universities for E.U member applicants
- romania’s E.U membership in 2007
- increase in low cost airline carriers to Romania
Romania provides an ideal opportunity for European Union member state students looking for an affordable and accredited option for studying medicine.
